The Team

Risi Competizione is a Houston-based professional racing team founded and managed by Giuseppe Risi. The team is based at the Ferrari of Houston dealership and has an enviable history of success that includes three wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, four wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring and three wins at the Petit Le Mans. And yet, somehow, they are now an integral part of the scR motorsports story.

Boom! I bet nobody saw that one coming.

James first teamed up with Risi Competizione in 2017 to compete in the Ferrari Challenge 458 Trofeo Pirelli North American Championship. In spite of his inexperience with the car, the tracks, and the series, James was able to score class victories at both Road America and at the Circuit of the Americas.

The team finished their first season together in fourth place despite having only competed in 10 of 14 events.

This immediate success was due in no small part to the incredible preparation, support, and technical know-how of each member of the Risi organization.

With a successful rookie season behind them, James and Risi Competizione together attacked the 2018 season with an intense concentration on winning the overall 458 Championship. Their effort and determination resulted in one pole position, one race win, five podium finishes, and six fastest race laps over the short eight-race season. While their second-place finish in the 458 Trofeo Pirelli North American Championship wasn’t the outcome they had worked for, it laid a rock-solid foundation for the team’s transition to TCR in 2019.

Risi Competizione is historically the most accomplished and winning Ferrari race team in professional road racing. Giuseppe Risi himself has over 40 years of experience in international competition (including racing F1 cars, sports prototypes, and GT cars) and over 35 years of experience as a Ferrari dealer. It is with high expectations that this collective team wisdom, experience, and motorsports savvy will be focused in 2019 on the freshly-minted TC America TCR Championship.
